Toffee Recipe

Not so great for your teeth, but toffee is truely one of my favourites, I have been making these for years now!

Ingredients

100g butter
300g Demerara sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp black treacle
4 tbsp water100g butter
300g Demerara sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp black treacle
4 tbsp water

Method

1. Put the ingredients into a large pan and heat slowly, stirring until the both the butter melts and the sugar dissolves.

2. Bring the pan to the boil. Cover it then simmer gently for around 2 mins. Then uncover the pan, and continue to boil for up to 15 minutes, stirring the mixture now and again.

3. Pour the mixture into a buttered 15cm 6in square tin, and leave aside to set.

4. Once set, remove the toffee from the tin and break up with a hammer – then enjoy!

boil for 5 mins, i used to make this with my cousin, who is 20 yrs older than me, love toffee, try adding chopped nuts, and cover with choc, tastes like dime bars, lovey, or cover an apple with the mix before it sets.
