We all like them, especially with some lovely jam inside. Take a look at this great donuts recipe.

Ingredients

225g (9oz) Strong White Bread Flour
½ tsp Salt
15g (½oz) Butter, melted
1 sachet Allinson Easy Bake Yeast
125ml (4floz) Water, lukewarm
1 Egg
To Cook: Vegetable oil
To Serve: Jam and sugar

Method

1. Place all the ingredients into a large bowl, mix and then knead for 10 minutes (or knead for 5 minutes in a machine with a dough hook attached).

2. Cut the dough into 8 and shape into balls. Leave to prove until double in size on a greased tray.

3. Heat the oil in a pan to a medium heat (140°C) and deep fry the donuts until golden brown, drain and toss in sugar.

4. When cool, place the jam in a piping bag. Make a small hole in the side of each donut, fill with jam and serve.
