Almond Chocolate Tart Recipe
Great if you love almonds or chocolate!
Ingredients
CRUST
125g Ginger biscuits
115g Whitworths Ground Almonds
50g Sugar
60g Butter melted
FILLING
300g Dark chocolate. finely grated
225ml Whipping cream
2 large Egg yolks
1 large Egg
50g Sugar
1 tbsp flour
100g Whitworths Flaked Almonds
Method
To Make the Crust:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. In a food processor grind gingersnaps, ground almonds, and sugar fine and add butter, blending until combined well.
3. Press mixture onto bottom and up side of a 9-inch cake tin.
4. Bake crust in middle of oven 15 minutes and cool on rack.
To Make filling:
5. Combine grated chocolate and whipping cream in a saucepan. Whisk over low heat until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove saucepan from heat.
6. Whisk egg yolks, egg, sugar & flour in a bowl to blend. Very gradually whisk the chocolate mixture into egg mixture until smooth and blended.
7. Gently stir in 80g flaked almonds
8. Pour chocolate filling into crust & sprinkle remaining flaked almonds on top.
9. Bake chocolate tart for about 30 minutes. Transfer to rack.
10. Cool for 1 hr before eating
